Art Director: San Francisco, CA

Job Description

Harlo SF is looking for a wickedly creative Designer/Art Director who’s not afraid to dive into work across nearly all of the agency’s client accounts. This position will directly support the Creative Director and offers unparalleled access, opportunities, and connections to a wide range of client industries. This will be a new position within the agency, and we hope to find a talented, unique and friendly individual who will fit in with our tight-knit team and feel confident jumping into problem solving head on. Summary

The Art Director will be a daily idea generator, who will add creative firepower to our SF office. The right candidate will have existing agency experience in concepting and producing advertising campaigns across a range of channels/mediums. You’ll need to be a highly efficient digital designer who knows the tools of the trade, and you’ll work closely with the Creative Director to generate and execute multi-channel campaigns at each stage of the creative process. 

 

Key Duties

- Be a primary contributor to creative brainstorms, ideation, visual prototyping, etc.

- Partner with the Creative Director to execute and produce creative assets across all channels/mediums, but with a strong focus on social and digital media.

- Be comfortable in client presentations and prepared to lead creative discussions as they arise, both within the agency and with clients/partners.

- Create strongly visual presentations that express a clear creative vision.

- Copywriting experience is a strong plus.

- Be prepared to manage freelance talent as needed, with support from the Creative Director.

- Be immersed in the advertising business by reading trades, third-party research and all agency/client presentations

- Ask questions! Questions make you better, us better, and our work better.

 

Qualifications

- 3-5 years of creative agency experience, preferably in the SF Bay Area

- Expert-level understanding of Adobe Creative Suite

- You must be able to generate and articulate your original ideas into campaign concepts; you should be intensely familiar with the creative briefing process.

- A passion for digital design aesthetics, and the ability to combine visual and written material into a compelling experience.

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. We have a lot of fun together, and sometimes it gets the better of us. Being able to buckle down when you need to will help you succeed here.

- Detail oriented, hyper-organized, strong work ethic, and a serious thirst for knowledge.

- Experience in social media marketing, communications, and/or PR is preferred.

- This position will be full-time, based in our San Francisco office.

Digital Producer: Portland, OR

Harlo PDX is looking for a happy-go-lucky Digital Producer to join the team. As a digital producer you enjoy collaborating with people, you have a passion for design, user experience and the deatails. Project managing is not just a job for you, but a career with a passion in working with people and building cool digital products.

 

Role & Responsibilities

- Ability to manage 5-7 concurrent digital projects while remaining within project scope, timeline and budget.

- Lead the discovery of newly assigned projects for determining project scopes, timelines, goals and objectives.

- Lead assigned project kickoff meetings and manage ongoing from project kickoff thru project completion.

- Manage assigned project scheduling and coordinate with production team for maintaining project schedule.

- Track and record all project communications utilizing internal systems and management software.

- Contribute to process improvements and participate in discovering solutions.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Must have 2+ years experience in producing digital projects.

- Must have experience in website process development and technology

- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must have experience using BaseCamp

- Must have experience in document creation, managing deadlines, schedules, and budgets.

- Must be detail oriented, have strong communication and organizational skills.

- Must have the ability to multi-task and manage both client and internal team expectations.

- Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving teams with budget and schedule constraints.

Digital Designer: Portland, OR

Job Description

Harlo PDX is seeking a digital designer to assist the associate creative director in designing digital experiences. You will possess strong appreciation of design, attention to detail, communication skills and hold a passion for digital design. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated with excellent typographic skills, a deep understanding of web design standards, best practices with an expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch.

Requirements

- Ability to meet deadlines and follow production schedules

- Ability to present and effectively communicate designs to internal teams and clients

- Must be capable to present design concepts and receive criticism in a positive manor

 

Experience & Expectations

- 2+ years design experience within a digital or creative agency

- Expert knowledge and skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator

- Strong understanding of typography 

- Strong understanding of site structure, navigation, UI principles, wireframing and user flows

- Ability to collaborate with team members in a positive professional manor

- Ability to work autonomously

- Ability to adhere to brand guidelines with rigorous attention to detail

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

- Solid user interface and online concepting skills

- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work under deadlines

PHP Developer: Portland, OR

Harlo PDX seeking a talented, detail-orientated PHP developer to join our team of developers, designers and strategists. You’ll be enthusiastic, driven, and must show initiative when faced with a challenging situation. We work at a fast pace, so you must possess the ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities and technology.

Requirements

- Master at standards-compliant PHP, HTML, Javascript, CSS, and jQuery

- Experienced working within the Codeigniter & Laravel frameworks

- LAMP stack fluent

- Intimate knowledge of cross-browser issues and the quality assurance process

- Ability to develop custom content management systems

- Comfortable working autonomously and/or as part of a small team in a collaborative space

- 1-3 years professional experience (preferably within an agency)

- Must have E-commerce and WordPress experience.
